Gizmodo (August 30, 2026) covered the same 50 percent sale. 9to5Toys says Amazon’s 2026 Labor Day event runs through September 7. The listing we checked had a countdown deal badge with hours left, so treat this SKU as a weekend restock, not a guarantee through the seventh.

Buy the XM5 this weekend, or wait for the XM6

The WH-1000XM6 is a different product. It launched in May 2025 and still sits near list. Buy the XM5 this weekend if you want Sony’s last-gen ANC cans at half off. Wait for the XM6 if you want the current flagship and you are not shopping on price. Do not pitch the XM5 as the new model.

Sony’s own spec sheet lists an eight-microphone ANC system, 30mm drivers, Speak-to-Chat, and about 30 hours of battery. Those are manufacturer claims. Hardpulse has not lab-tested this SKU.
